Once when we were driving down the mountain from Walkamin we saw a Cassowary! 

It is one of my first aussie animals! It is my first cassowary I have ever seen in real life. I have not been to the zoo yet so it was amazing to see one in the wild. Here are some facts about cassowaries. 1. They are smaller than ostriches and emus. 2. They eat mainly fruit though they are truly omnivorous. 3. They are very shy but when they feel trapped or in danger they are capable of injuring you.
